There are a few ten temples in Macau, most of which have existed over a century, some even exceeded 500 years. They witness the history of Macau and also add to the glamour of Macau scenery.
A lot of Chinese cultural treasures are well preserved in Macau, among them are the ancient traditional temple constructions which experienced long years of historical changes, and they remain popular scenic spots in all ages. Kuan Iam Tong, A-Ma Temple and Lin Fong Miu are the three most famous temples, they all attract great number of tourists and different types of worshippers to visit and to discover their special features resembling characteristics from different construction times, styles, purposes and themes for worship.
Lin Fong Miu is the most remarkable construction among Macau temples, it was built in 1592, with more than 400 years of history.
Kuan Iam Temple witnessed the history of "Sino-America Mong Ha Treaty" signed in 1844. The stone table and four stone chairs inside the garden of the temple is where the two countries signed the Treaty.
Besides, there are other temples like Lin Kai Miu, Hong Kung Miu, Pou Tai Un, Pak Tai Temple, Tin Hau Temple and Tam Kung Miu, etc.
